Pricing Group Life, Disability, and Dental

Session Description:

The session will provide an overview of the plan designs, pricing techniques, and risks of specialty products commonly written with Group Health.

Speaker(s):

John Schwegel, Director of Group Actuarial for Dearborn National has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. In his current role, Mr. Schwegel is responsible for pricing and product design, financial planning, risk analysis and reinsurance. Prior to joining Dearborn National, Mr. Schwegel served as Assistant Vice President for American General Assurance Company and was a senior consultant at Ernst &Young. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Northern Illinois University. He is also a member of the Society of Actuaries Group Life Experience Committee.

Michael Niemerg is an Associate Actuary with Dearborn National/Health Care Service Corporation and has five years of experience working with ancillary benefits. His responsibilities have included pricing and product design, valuation, financial analysis, and forecasting. He currently manages all actuarial responsibilities for the company’s dental portfolio. Mr. Niemerg holds a B.S. in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
