Speaker: Jeff Katz – Munich American Reassurance Co
Topic: Insurance Industry Impact of Terrorist Attacks and Threats
Mr. Katz will discuss the impact of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, as well as the bioterrorism threat, on the insurance industry.  He will focus on Life & Health, but will also touch on P&C, and will discuss issues such as the magnitude of the insured losses, the impact on reinsurers, potential government intervention, and what the impact will be on our industry going forward.

Jeffrey S. Katz, FSA, MAAA, JD, is Senior Vice President, Munich American Reassurance Company  (MARC), and President, Agora Insurance Network Solutions, the e-commerce subsidiary of MARC.  Mr. Katz's responsibilities at MARC include e-commerce, underwriting, medical, mortality research, and asset-based products. He is chairman of the Reinsurance Section of the Society of Actuaries.  For the nine years prior to joining MARC, Mr. Katz was the head of CNA's life reinsurance unit.  Prior to working in reinsurance, Mr. Katz spent much of his career designing and developing individual life insurance and annuity products.
