27 Nov 2018 - 8:45 am - 5 pm

DePaul University Room 8005, DePaul Center, 1 E Jackson Blvd Chicago

We are all exposed to cyber risk, both as individuals and as actuaries.  We need to be able to use sensitive data and accurately price and value the risks that our employers and clients take on or are exposed to.  The Chicago Actuarial Association is once again partnering with DePaul University to present the 5th Annual Cyber Risk Conference on Tuesday, November 27.

Panels will address the topics of emerging threats, supply chain security, evolving insurance, and evolving privacy issues.  The conference will begin and end with keynote speakers who are experts in cyber security and will include a lunch as well as a reception, providing opportunities for networking.

The conference begins with a Keynote Address by Dr. Jacob Furst, Professor of Visual Computing and Computer Security and Director of the DePaul Information Assurance Center.

Following the keynote address is a panel on Emerging Threats.  New and evolving technologies are being deployed constantly. These evolving technologies provide a host of new benefits, but also create a horde of new risks. In this panel we’ll discuss the impact these emerging threats that accompany the evolving technologies have on all businesses.

Ross Durrer, Allstate Senior Manager, Cyber Security Operations Center
Danyetta Magana, President of Covenant Security Solutions
Ashley S. Woyak Baxter Healthcare Corporation Business Information and Security Officer

Next is a panel on Supply Chain Security. With growing vendor populations and exponential risk in the manufacturing industry, supply chain risk has taken on a new threat landscape. This panel will address the issues of cyber insurance and provide an overview of how it has evolved and produced many different types of coverages to meet emerging threats.

Panelists:
Scott Kannry, Axio Chief Executive Officer (moderator)
Sean Scranton, RLI Cyber Liability National Practice Leader
Joon Sung, Transunion Risk Manager

The fourth panel is on Evolving Privacy Issues. All organizations are repositories of personal information that must be secured against cyber threats. The issues of data security and privacy have spawned numerous regulations and laws, such as the General Data Protection Regulatory framework (GDPR) in the European Union that will require compliance by any firm that collects data on European citizens. This panel will deal with both the U.S. and GDPR compliance issues.

Panelists:
